The rhetoric skirmishes that dominated Saturday's Capital Gang started when Ofwono Opondo revealed that Wakida asked for 50 million from NRM to sell them an opinion poll that would favour president Museveni. The polls released in August 2015 reported that 55% would vote President Museveni, 17% would vote former FDC leader Dr. Kiiza Besigye and 13% would vote former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi. He was commenting on the recent polls conducted by Research World International that gave president Museveni 51 percent. Opondo also claimed that Wakida made another attempt to get 20 million from NRM before releasing the recent polls. "Wakida might be a professional researcher but he's a peddler. During last year's poll in July he rang me and asked for a meeting, I agreed. When we met, he demanded for Shs 50m so that he could do something with the results," Opondo said. When called to respond to the allegations, an irate Wakida said "Opondo is an idiot." He explained that he told Opondo that "if he wanted extra analysis he would pay for it." Source: Red pepper
